Bailey’s bridal portrait session took place on a warm June evening at Milliken Arboretum in Spartanburg, South Carolina—a favorite location of mine for bridal portraits. This venue offers an incredible variety of natural backdrops, from serene ponds and lush gardens to quiet pine forests, making it one of the best photography locations in the Upstate.

Bridal Portraits in the Pines
We began Bailey’s session in the towering pine trees near the frontage road. The deep greens and rich shadows of the pines created a dramatic contrast against Bailey’s white lace-and-tulle A-line wedding gown. One of these portraits became her official bridal portrait—and it’s easy to see why. The texture of the trees and the glow of the setting sun added just the right amount of magic to the moment.

Next, we wandered through a few of Milliken’s beautiful gardens, stopping wherever the sunlight poured through the trees and bushes. These quiet, candid moments captured Bailey’s natural beauty and the peaceful joy that comes with the final days before your wedding.
A Meaningful Tribute
One of the most meaningful parts of Bailey’s bridal session was the way we honored her late father. She brought a photo of him, and we thoughtfully included it in several portraits. These emotional images became a beautiful tribute to his memory and a reminder of his love and presence on her wedding day.

Bailey officially became a bride on July 20, 2024, when she married Blake at The Venue at Rose Hill in Travelers Rest, SC. One of the most touching moments of that day was watching Blake’s emotional reaction as he saw Bailey in her wedding gown for the first time—an unforgettable scene made even more special knowing how deeply her bridal portraits reflected her journey.
